About Us

A Message from Morgan

While I only spent seven years in active addiction, the consequences came hard and fast. In a relatively short period of time, addiction took everything from me. It led to incarceration and several near-fatal situations that easily could have ended my life. Looking back, I truly believe my Higher Power decided I was worth a second chance.

That second chance began with nearly 10 months in a residential treatment and correctional program, followed by a required 90 days in sober living. I ultimately stayed for nine months. What I didn't realize at the time was that sober living would become one of the most important parts of my recovery.

During my time in sober living, I found more than a place to live—I found accountability, structure, community, and women who believed in me until I could believe in myself. After completing my 90-day requirement, I remained in the home before stepping into my next chapter as a House Manager, a role I held for three years. Those years gave me the opportunity to walk alongside other women as they rebuilt their own lives and taught me that recovery is about so much more than staying sober. It's about learning how to live again.

From there, I began operating sober living homes of my own while continuing my career in behavioral healthcare and addiction treatment.

For the past seven years, I have worked in the behavioral healthcare and addiction treatment field. My experience includes both direct client care and Quality Assurance & Compliance at a premier behavioral healthcare and addiction treatment facility. This combination has given me a unique perspective on recovery, allowing me to support individuals not only through lived experience but also through a deep understanding of evidence-based treatment, regulatory standards, program development, and quality of care.

My journey has allowed me to experience recovery from multiple perspectives: as a woman in recovery, a sober living resident, a House Manager, a behavioral healthcare professional, and now the owner of Journeys Georgetown Sober Home. Each role has shaped my belief that recovery is possible when people are given the right environment, accountability, and support.

I founded Journeys because I wanted to create the kind of home that changed my life—a place where women feel safe, supported, challenged, and encouraged to become the women they were always meant to be.

Recovery has given me a life beyond anything I ever thought was possible. It has given me purpose, meaningful work, and the privilege of being the mother my son deserves.

Today, my greatest passion is helping other women discover that the same transformation is possible for them. No matter where your journey has taken you, I want you to know that you are welcome here, you are worthy of recovery, and you never have to walk this path alone.
